Ana María Romero Mena
Respected Tequila authority and Maestra Tequilera, Ana Maria Romero Mena is one of the first Official Catadores of Tequila. Ana Maria began her career developing a Wine Tasting map to educate those among the Spanish speaking population who were interested in learning more about Wine Tasting. Later, she found that the complexity of Tequila and its misconceptions were widespread throughout the world and converted her Wine Tasting map to a Tequila Tasting chart. Ana Maria elaborated the seminar on Apreciación Sensorial del Tequila® , Tequila Sensorial Appreciation, which was given to Tequila Enterprises such as Sauza, Casa Cuervo, Casa San Matías, Don Julio, 7 Leguas, Herradura, Tequila Regulatory Council and the National Chamber of the Tequila Industry among others. She has become an Advisor for the formation of Taster panels for The Tequila Industry. She was a columnist for 100% Tequila magazine and wrote the book “Los aromas del Tequila, el arte de la cata, “The aroma and art of tequila tasting”.
